ChatGPT App Now Available Globally – AI Next

Date:

OpenAI, a major artificial intelligence (AI) company backed by Microsoft, has recently expanded its popular ChatGPT iOS app, available in 11 countries. The application, which is free for download and ad-free, has already achieved more than one million downloads in six days.

Data.ai, an application knowledge company, has noted that the ChatGPT application has outperformed other AI and chatbot programs, including Microsoft Edge and Bing applications since its launch. This makes it one of the most successful new applications.

The iOS version of the app allows users to converse with a generative AI chatbot on their phone, with the capability to perform GPT-4’s advanced functioning. Additionally, the Voice Input feature uses OpenAI’s Whisper speech recognition system for added convenience. It also includes an optional in-app purchase for ChatGPT Plus at $20 USD each month.

Currently, OpenAI only has the iOS version of the app. However, an Android version of the app is in the works and promised to be released soon. Meanwhile, OpenAI Chief Sam Altman has been recently travelling to several countries to foster awareness and understanding of artificial intelligence, meeting with a few European heads of state. He will visit India at the beginning of next month.

OpenAI is a not-for-profit research laboratory co-founded by respected and renowned figures such as Elon Musk, Greg Brockman, and Sam Altman. It was created with the goal to develop advanced AI solutions while preserving progressive values across different areas including healthcare, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and natural language processing.
