Cambridge Students Reveal Nearly Half Have Used ChatGPT

Date:

At the prestigious Cambridge University, students have access to the best resources money can buy. However, they have also found that the artificial intelligence chatbots like ChatGPT have been just as helpful with their studies. In a survey of 400 undergraduates and graduates of both humanities and STEM fields, 47 percent of the respondents admitted to have utilized ChatGPT in some capacity during their course of studies.

ChatGPT is a popular artificial intelligence chatbot that is programmed to assist with tasks like learning a language, doing homework, writing coursework, and even online exams. In some cases, students have broken university regulations by using the chatbot for their coursework and tests.

ChatGPT was developed by GPT-2, which is a subsidiary of OpenAI, a non-profit artificial intelligence research laboratory. GPT-2 is highly capable of automatically learning to write coherent and meaningful text while adapting to different tasks. While each task is unique, ChatGPT has demonstrated its capability to assist Cambridge students in their studies.

Dr. Joseph Suel, the lead scientist for GPT-2, believes that AI chatbots like ChatGPT are only going to increase in popularity among university students. Not only are these chatbots easier to use, but they are often more efficient and accurate than manual work. In most cases, ChatGPT has proven to be an ideal learning companion for Cambridge students. Additionally, its efficiency enables students to reduce the amount of tedious work that is associated with their studies. For example, ChatGPT can be used for grammar correction, making sure the content is accurate and error-free.

Though it is commendable that ChatGPT serves as a helpful assistant, it should not be used in a way that breaks the rules set by the universities. Additionally, it is important to check the credibility of the sources when using AI chatbots like this. Nonetheless, with the increasing prevalence of AI chatbots, even at universities as prestigious as Cambridge, it’s clear that they are here to stay.
