AI generated music has been a popular topic on social media, with some of the AI-generated songs amassing millions of views on different platforms. Jered Chavez, a college student from Florida, recently revealed how simple it is to make the songs created through AI sound authentic. Chavez told The Verge he was in “surprise how easy it was”, describing it as “kind of scary” to create content through the platform.

Chavez has been creating a lot of content, including one song featuring Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Ye-formally known as Kanye West-singing the semi-famous anime theme song “Fukashigi no Carte”. The video has over 13 million views on TikTok.

However, the technology has not gone without criticism. Drake also expressed his grievances over the AI technology, while Universal Music Group urged streaming sites to stop allowing AI companies to use copyrighted songs from Universal’s catalog. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek was questioned regarding the technology during the company’s first quarter earnings call and he stated they could understand the criticism, while noting the “important topics and issues”.
