Meta Requests Assistance from OpenAI to Develop AI Coding Helper for Its Engineers

Meta (formerly Facebook) is in talks with Microsoft and OpenAI to create an AI coding assistant for its engineers. CTO Andrew Bosworth revealed to its employees about this ambitious plan and said that the cost for such kind of assistant would be seven cents per query. They are also working on a program to help their engineers get access to all the company’s internal codes and documents. Bosworth anticipates that the project should be ready by mid-June.

OpenAI has raised $300 million in a funding round led by Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Thrive and K2 Global at a valuation of $27-$29 billion.
