OpenAI Voice Support Launches ChatGPT App For IPhone

Date:

OpenAI, a San Francisco based Artificial Intelligence Lab, has recently released the updated version of its popular ChatGPT chatbot for iPhone users. With this advancement, iPhone users get an improved user experience compared to the browser-based version, since they are able to use voice commands like Siri or Alexa.

Unlike most of the other chatbots, ChatGPT provides text-based responses when questioned, and does not provide audio. The motive behind this move is to make AI research more accessible to individuals, and provide them with tools for everyday use.

ChatGPT is a machine-learning technique, also known as generative AI. It produces digital texts to assist students in their work and professionals in marketing and email writing. Companies like Google and OpenAI use this chatbot in their services.

However, these chatbots have certain limitations. Since they learn from huge amounts of data, they sometimes struggle to distinguish between real material and fake content. Also errors in coding cannot be avoided. For now, these chatbots act as a supporting technology and do not replace human workers.

After Microsoft’s successful attempt to incorporate voice recognition into Bing, OpenAI has come up with a voice-enabled ChatGPT for iPhone users. It additionally requires a monthly subscription fee of $20. Furthermore, the company has plans to update the services with specific countries in weeks, and eventually release an Android version as well.

OpenAI is a company founded by the founder of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk. As an Artificial Intelligence research lab, it aims to facilitate knowledge in AI and empower people with the resources they need for their daily lives. Ever since its launch in 2019, it has made strides in reshaping the tech industry and continually expanding its reach into the market.
