Using ChatGPT-4 for Free without a Plus Subscription

Date:

In late 2022, ChatGPT, a revolutionary chatbot developed by OpenAI, took the world by storm. It amazed millions of people with its advanced Artificial Intelligence capabilities, introducing them to the concept of large language models. The chatbot sparked excitement as to how far technology could progress, whilst inadvertently raising many questions and doubts on what it could mean for the world, and in particular, certain professions. Nevertheless, OpenAI did not stop at the initial launch of ChatGPT; the company announced plans to develop GPT-4, a powerful language model that would power many AI-driven applications in the future.

GPT-4 is 40% more accurate in delivering relevant answers, 80% less likely to break OpenAI’s rules, and is capable of stringing together a response of up to 25,000 words. It is also multi-modal, meaning it has the capability to generate sounds and images in addition to text, although OpenAI has yet to showcase this. However, if users of ChatGPT desire access to GPT-4, they will have to opt for a paid subscription plan. This subscription includes limited use of the model, with a maximum of 25 messages sent every three hours.

Although ChatGPT is the only active application that OpenAI is running on GPT-4, there are other ways of accessing the powerful model without having to shell out money. Various platforms and applications offer access to GPT-4, which enables users to work with the model without requiring any kind of subscription or payment. However, under OpenAI’s terms and conditions, users should bear in mind limits and regulations imposed when using GPT-4.
